About Andrea Scott

Entrepreneur/ Author/ Speaker / Trainer /Facilitator/ Business & Leadership Coach

Dr. Andrea Richards Scott is a seasoned entrepreneur, leadership coach, and business strategist dedicated to helping women discover their purpose, build thriving businesses, and leave a lasting legacy. With over 20 years of experience in coaching, training, and organizational development, she empowers women to break free from the constraints of a traditional 9-to-5 and launch purpose-driven businesses and ministries rooted in Christian principles. She is the creator of the PurposeQuest CLEAR Business Mastery Blueprint, a structured approach to business success that guides women to Clarify (business concept), Locate (ideal clients), Examine (results), Apply (frameworks), and Repeat (successful outcomes) —taking them from startup to execution and scaling.
A serial entrepreneur, Dr. Scott has founded multiple businesses that reflect her passion for growth, leadership, and transformation. Whether as a partner or solopreneur, these businesses allowed her to focus on writing, speaking, training, consulting, facilitation, coaching, and leadership development.

As an author and thought leader, Dr. Scott has written several books, including Keys to the Kingdom: A Manual for Success in Today’s World, PurposeQuest, and Purpose Prayers. Her academic contributions extend to publications on systems thinking, strategic thinking, and leadership development. She also contributed a book chapter to Women Becoming Leaders: Identity Development Across Sectors and Regions published by Palgrave Macmillan. Dr. Scott’s professional background is both diverse and impactful. She began her career in retail buying at Bloomingdale’s and American Express Catalogue before transitioning into consultative sales at AT&T. She also served as the Manager of the Master Teacher Leadership Development Program for George Washington University Hospital and Nursing School. In the international development space, she worked as an Organizational Development Consultant for Training Resources Group, Inc. (TRG), where she coached and trained leaders from USG agencies, NGOs, and associations on topics such as leadership development, emotional intelligence, DEI, psychological safety, growth mindset, and capacity building. She facilitated meetings with senior leaders to identify priorities and create fiscal year action plans. At TRG, she serves on the board of directors helping to shape the strategic direction of the organization, further demonstrating her commitment to visionary leadership.
Her academic achievements include earning a Doctorate in Human and Organizational Learning from George Washington University. Her dissertation, Understanding the Experiences of Growth-Oriented Women Entrepreneurs: A Portraiture Study, examined how women navigate a male-normative business environment to scale their enterprises successfully. She also holds an M.B.A. in Marketing and Finance from the University of Georgia and a B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University
A dedicated coach, Dr. Scott is an International Coach Federation (ICF) Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and holds multiple certifications, including Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Certified, Certified DISC Consultant, and Certified Human Behavior Consultant (CHBC). She provides coaching in three core areas: life and career coaching for individuals, business coaching for entrepreneurs, and executive coaching for organizations.
Deeply rooted in faith, Dr. Scott has served in various ministry leadership roles. She was a youth consultant to the Lutheran Church of America, a Lead Servant Leader and minister at Joshua Ministries. She served as a Stephen Minister at Reid Temple AME church and has served over a decade as a member of the Stewart Board a Kingdom Fellowship AME Church (formally Reid Temple North), continuing her commitment to faith-based leadership and service.
Beyond her professional and ministry work, Dr. Scott served as the board chair for Magna African Dance company, is a devoted mother, sister, and sister-friend.
